At The Cottage Garden, we do not keep fresh mushrooms on a shelf. To guarantee peak nutrient density and culinary “snap,” every fresh batch is grown specifically for our clients. We follow the biological clock of the fungi, ensuring that when your crate arrives, the mushrooms were fruiting in our sterile lab only hours before.

Delivery & Collection Areas
To ensure our mushrooms never lose their “harvest-snap,” we currently only deliver fresh crates within Johannesburg (25km radius of Southgate Mall).

  • Flat Rate Delivery: R150 per order.
  • Outside this area, but still in Gauteng? We will email you back to agree on a suitable delivery plan.

Delivery Zone: Johannesburg & Surroundings

  • Standard Fresh Delivery: Within a 25km radius of Southgate Mall in Johannesburg.
  • National & Out-of-Area: For kitchens outside our delivery zone, we welcome third-party refrigerated courier collections. Please submit the inquiry form, and we will provide the dimensions and collection window for your courier.
  • Nationwide Shipping: Our Dried Range is available for overnight shipping anywhere in South Africa.

The “How it Works” (The Process):

1. Submit Your Inquiry
Use the form below to let us know which varieties you require and your desired delivery date.

2. Lab Confirmation
Within 24 hours, we will check our current incubation schedule. If we have a batch fruiting, we will confirm immediately. If not, we will offer you the next available harvest slot (typically a 30–50 day lead time).

3. Secure Your Slot
Once we confirm availability, we will send an invoice that will include delivery. Payment secures your place in the fruiting chamber.

4. Farm-to-Kitchen Delivery
We harvest at dawn on your scheduled day and deliver directly to your kitchen or collection point to ensure the cold chain remains unbroken.
